Discover West Long Beach, just on the other side of the Los Angeles River, this section of the city is home to thriving small businesses and favorite local dining spots.
 
The Westside, as its name implies, is the part of Long Beach west of the 710 Fwy and is the westernmost part of the city. Poly High is the area surrounding LB Poly HS. These areas are great for first-time buyers as prices are some of the lowest in the city. These areas are up and coming and are still of value. Houses range from Craftsman homes, Spanish Colonial Revival, Post War, and MidCentury Modern homes all mixed together. This is an area to check out and make your own decision about.

There are three parks in the area including Silverado Park, with its popular skate park, and the more than 12.29-acre Admiral Kidd Park. Commuting is easier with the 405, 710 freeways, and the Pacific Coast Highway nearby and is close to the port for those employed in shipping, logistics, and the cruise industry.
